I finally got my hands on the kale gnocchi from @traderjoes & I’m a fan! • I have to be honest, I prepped myself thinking I was going to eat a kale salad for dinner (which is not a problem) but I was surprised by the taste. Yesterday @kirabedira over @wonderpuppypdx taught us some non-food or toy luring skills and ways to engage with Garçon when he’s less interested in training. We worked on this at home last night and he was VERY in to it when I added silly body movements and voices to perk his interest. I can get too earnest with training sometimes so these reminders to get goofy are really great for us both! PS I taught him to roll over, which tbh felt like a bigger success than the day I submitted my grad school thesis. Struggling to get those arms to grow? Try some Forced negatives and slow eccentric contractions as training techniques to help stimulate those muscles. Here are a couple of exercises to try out: 1) seated overhead barbell french press - get a spotter behind you to help you complete those forced negatives when you can’t rep it out anymore. Aim to do about 3 - 4 forced reps to really get those triceps hurting. 2) seated dumbbell curl - put a timer in front of you to count that 3 second eccentric contraction on these, as long as your fighting it on the way down, you’re doing it right 👌

Self doubt can ruin us in so many ways. ⁣ I doubted myself for years whether I could actually lose weight rather than continue to gain weight. The battle never actually ends in my head to be honest with you. It’s always there ringing in my ears wondering if I can continue to reach my crazy goals. ⁣ ⁣ I doubted myself that I was capable of doing a fitness class when I was asked to go a few months ago. I immediately said NO, because That wasn’t in my comfort zone at all. ⁣ And all a person has to do is plant the seed in my head and I think about it, and try beat the challenge within the self doubt. He knew I was not comfortable going, he even made me take a picture of a poster while I was there to prove myself 🤣🤷‍♀️ AND I DID exactly that, I now attend this class once or twice a week to meet new people and get outta the house! And it’s challenged me a LOT. I love it!! challengeaccepted ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I found I had hit a plateau and wondered why? 🤔 I thought I was eating right, getting my work outs in every day, but nothing was changing anymore and I was starting to doubt myself & get very frustrated. So I knew something had to change and adjust what I was doing. ⁣ ⁣ I started this new Barre Blend program and put in MORE effort with each workout, refocused on my nutrition program with portion fix timed nutrition. Where It teaches me how to eat certain foods at certain times of the day, and the key to it all is to NOT starve. ⁣ ⁣ Well, once I overcame my self doubt and gained trust in the system. Got a little uncomfortable with it all, I have re-sparked my ambition + I’m so much happier!! I have lost weight again and im 2 POUNDS AWAY from my FLORIDA goal 😬 ( and I leave in 7 days) so I am pretty excited about that + looking forward to the upcoming weeks! ⁣ ⁣ Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome! 🙌🏼⁣ ⁣ Start telling yourself “Actually, I CAN” .. rather than “ I doubt I can” 😊⁣ ⁣ Do something this week to over come self doubt, challenge yourself to get UNCOMFORTABLE! ⁣ ⁣ #poweryourpurpose  

Finally lifting heavy again:) I forgot the importance of having other people around to challenge you. I usually keep my workouts to myself and my workouts are typically high volume. However, a goal of mine this year was to start gaining more strength and I couldn’t have started without the help of @_ian_moore_ who came up to me and kept saying “you can add more weight”😂 .
